Reverse Osmosis Technology

At ImWater we have reverse osmosis technology to help you get clean and safe water. Reverse osmosis is a technology that uses a membrane rolled into a cylinder to remove dissolved salts from water, as well as bacteria and viruses.

It is important to note that water cannot be fed directly into the reverse osmosis plant, but in most cases needs to be pre-treated. The reverse osmosis plant has a sand filtration system that removes suspended solids from the water and activated carbon, which removes any chlorine that may be present in the water. In addition, it is necessary to pressurise the water to 8-10 bar for reverse osmosis to take place.

The reverse osmosis plant can produce high quality drinking water, which is 100% potable. The only additional treatment that might be necessary would be to disinfect the water with chlorine in case you want to store the water in a tank for days. Reverse osmosis technology is ideal for desalination of well/river water for human consumption, animals, irrigation, etc. It can also be used for the production of water with very low salt content for the production of beverages and foodstuffs.

It is important to note that the plant needs to be powered by 230 VAC current, with an estimated power consumption of 1.5 kW.
